Celebrating Our 7th Dubel Prize Finalist of 2025: Ellie Damant
On a crisp evening at the prestigious Home House Private Members Club, we proudly hosted the seventh finalist presentation of the 2025 Dubel Prize, celebrating the extraordinary talent of British painter Ellie Damant.
Over 250 guests arrived from 6:30pm, welcomed with bespoke cocktails crafted by the Home House team using their award-winning gin. The evening continued with exquisite canapés prepared by the club’s renowned chefs, setting the stage for a night of art, conversation, and celebration.
At 8pm, our host officially welcomed the audience before introducing the Membership Director of Home House, who shared insights into the club’s unique community, followed by a powerful address from the Director of our charity partner, Centrepoint. Their words reminded us of the importance of creativity, opportunity, and support in shaping futures.
Then, the spotlight turned to Ellie Damant. In an intimate interview, she spoke about her practice, her inspirations, and the ideas driving her work. Guests were captivated as she reflected on her artistic journey and the philosophy underpinning her new body of work.
As the evening unfolded, guests explored Ellie’s exhibition of 20 new paintings, works that interrogate the human condition, commodification, and the economic forces that shape our identities. Her pieces sparked dialogue across the room, resonating with the Dubel Prize’s mission of promoting thought-provoking, contemporary art.
Following the exhibition, our resident DJ, Owen Gallagher, lifted the energy, and guests danced, networked, and shared their impressions of the night.
The event was made all the more special by the presence of Damian Alexander Dubel, founder of the Dubel Prize, who continues to champion meaningful opportunities for emerging artists and cultivate platforms that connect creativity with community.
